We are called according to HIS purpose and grace
I have been back in Stockton for a week and it has been nice to be back into routine. It always takes re-adjustment coming from down south back to this city, the heaviness is evident even as you drive into Stockton, the enemy has strong holds here and it can be so overwhelming and scary. I am reminded daily that our battle is not against flesh and blood but against the spiritual realm. as a body of believers in this city we are fighting back by hitting our knees in prayer. Its a completely different kind of battle here and sometimes I don’t feel like I have any idea how to “be here”, but the Lord has been so sweetly reminding me that He uses the foolish and weak to shame the wise and it is Him who builds the house NOT ME. we already have victory in HIM!
The Lord has also been teaching me so much in the area of TRUSTING Him for EVERYTHING. Today in my quite time I had been praying about all that I wrote above and also a job and how I would be serving here. The Lord is so good to speak to His children. this is the verse that the Lord gave me.
2 Timothy 1:7-9
For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline.
Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord or of me His prisoner, but join with me in suffering for the gospel according to the power of God,
who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was granted us in Christ Jesus from all eternity,
I have not been given a spirit that is fearful in Stockton but a spirit of power, love and discipline. I am not called to Stockton according to my own works I have been called to Stockton according to the the purpose and grace of the LORD.
This is so crazy. I have a new out look on why I have been called here, I am here by the grace of God and for His purpose.
